Performance Overview

Business details

A fully developed sports travel booking platform (www.frontrowbreaks.com)  is being offered for sale due to the owner's other business commitments and the need to focus time elsewhere.

The platform has been built as a genuine transactional travel business rather than simply a lead-generation website. Customers can find a sporting event, select tickets, add nearby hotel accommodation, pay online and receive confirmation without the booking requiring manual processing.

The technical development is complete, supplier connections are operational, hundreds of pages are already indexed by Google and the website has begun generating enquiries despite having had no paid advertising.

For a buyer with the time and resources to develop the marketing, this provides an opportunity to acquire an established platform without having to undertake the lengthy and expensive development and supplier integration work from scratch.

Early organic traction
The website is still relatively new and has only been visible in search engines for a matter of weeks.

No budget has been spent on Google Ads, paid social media, link building or other forms of advertising.

Despite this, enquiries have already been received through both conventional search engines and AI-assisted search.

Current search data shows the website appearing for more than 700 different search terms, with over 300 individual pages being served within Google search results and approximately 4,000 impressions generated to date.

At this stage, many rankings remain on pages four and five of Google, so organic click volumes are understandably still low. However, the site is already being returned for commercially relevant searches relating to specific Premier League fixtures, corporate hospitality, tennis tournaments and motorsport events.

This provides an encouraging organic foundation for a buyer wishing to invest further in SEO, content or paid acquisition.

Fully transactional booking platform
A key feature of the business is that bookings can be completed entirely online.

Customers are shown pricing and availability, can select their preferred sporting event and accommodation, complete payment by card and receive booking confirmation electronically.

This differs from the enquiry-led model commonly used within sports travel, where customers submit a form and bookings are subsequently arranged manually.

The platform has instead been designed to automate as much of the booking process as possible, reducing the level of administration required as sales grow.

Live supplier integrations
Two ticket suppliers are currently integrated with the platform and provide live event inventory.

The website presently contains approximately:

  • 1,400 live match pages
  • 200 team pages
  • 75 stadium pages
  • 11 leagues
  • More than 100 corporate hospitality pages

Fixtures are imported automatically as they become available.

Kick-off times, pricing and ticket availability are refreshed on an ongoing basis, while duplicate fixtures and inconsistent supplier information are handled automatically.

Past events are also removed without requiring manual catalogue maintenance.

Integrated hotel accommodation
The platform is connected to an established hotel wholesaler, providing access to live accommodation inventory and wholesale rates.

Stadium locations are stored within the system, allowing relevant nearby hotels to be displayed alongside each event.

Indicative hotel prices are prepared automatically across upcoming fixtures, while expired rates are regularly removed to ensure customers are not presented with outdated accommodation pricing.

This allows the business to offer a complete sports break rather than relying solely on ticket sales.

Automated booking process
Considerable development has gone into the booking infrastructure.

Before a customer completes payment, supplier pricing is checked again to identify significant changes in the underlying cost.

Once payment has been confirmed, the platform can process the relevant ticket and hotel reservations, retain supplier confirmations, generate booking documentation and maintain an audit trail of the transaction.

The system records what was originally quoted, what the customer paid, what suppliers confirmed and what documentation was issued.

Processes are also in place to identify orders where payment has been received but a supplier booking has not completed correctly, allowing these to be dealt with promptly.

Flexible pricing and margin management
Pricing can be controlled through the administration area without requiring development work.

Margin rules can be applied across the website and adjusted for individual:

  • sports
  • leagues
  • competitions
  • suppliers

Ticket and hotel margins can be controlled separately.

The system also distinguishes between percentage margin and percentage markup, providing greater control over the actual gross profit achieved on each transaction.

Supplier currencies are converted using regularly refreshed exchange rates before the relevant margin is applied.

A daily pricing audit provides an additional check for potential pricing anomalies.

Automated content and search infrastructure
Much of the ongoing website administration has also been automated.

Scheduled processes handle areas including:

  • fixture updates
  • ticket pricing
  • hotel pricing
  • expired inventory
  • sitemap generation
  • new event pages
  • scheduled content
  • search optimisation
  • database housekeeping

New fixtures entering the system can therefore create new searchable pages without requiring each one to be manually produced.

This is particularly valuable in sports travel, where the inventory continually changes throughout the year.

What is included
The sale includes the complete operating platform together with the underlying technology and existing digital assets, including:

  • The complete sports travel website
  • Two integrated ticket suppliers
  • One integrated hotel supplier
  • Online card payment functionality
  • Automated ticket and hotel booking processes
  • Full administration system
  • Pricing and margin controls
  • Booking management
  • Customer voucher generation and storage
  • Transaction and booking audit trails
  • Approximately 90 automated background processes
  • Existing website content and imagery
  • Current organic search footprint
  • Search and analytics history
  • Deployment documentation
  • Technical handover

Reason for sale
The platform was developed as part of a wider portfolio of online businesses.

With other existing business commitments requiring greater attention, the decision has been made to offer the project to a buyer who can dedicate more time to its commercial development.

Importantly, the sale is not being driven by excessive operating overheads or a technical problem with the platform.

The majority of the difficult development work has already been completed.

The next stage is primarily commercial: building traffic, improving search positions, developing partnerships and increasing booking volume. It has only generated around £300 worth of profit in early testing and marketing.

It could therefore suit an existing travel company wanting to add sports travel, an online entrepreneur looking for an established platform, or a buyer with experience in digital marketing who would prefer to acquire the infrastructure rather than build it from the beginning.
