What qualifications do I need to join TaxAssist Accountants?

Franchisees have typically been accountants working both in practice and in industry, as well as in banking, financial, corporate and consulting services. Many also come from a successful business ownership background too.

If you join TaxAssist as a new start franchisee or you are converting your existing practice to TaxAssist Accountants you will need to be a qualified accountant with a practising certificate. TaxAssist can advise you on obtaining a practising certificate if this is something you are not familiar with.

If you are purchasing a TaxAssist franchise resale and you are not an accountant with a practising certificate, then having a financial/senior management position within the banking or financial sectors or proven business background is essential. You must attend an initial training course and employ a practice manager who is a qualified accountant to manage the day-to-day operations of the business.

Your role as a TaxAssist Accountant

You’ll spend your time as business owner growing your accounting practice by attracting new clients and managing a team of staff members. We’ll help you hire and train the right people so you can focus on achieving your ambitions.
 

The goal is to work on the business rather than in it. That way, you’re growing an asset as well as your income. We’ll guide you every step of the way to maximise both your income and asset value.

Investment & returns

The franchise fee is £9,975 + VAT in you are purchasing a franchise resale or converting your existing practice to TaxAssist Accountants, and £19,950 + VAT for a new start franchise. Your total investment will depend on your location and working capital requirements. 
 

After five years you should be aiming for a turnover of at least £300,000. Some of our accountants are happy to maintain this level, comfortable with both the income generated and being relatively light touch on the business; while others continue to work full-time and push past £500,000 turnover. 

We expect a third of your turnover to cover staff costs, another third to cover running costs, and the final third to be profit. Those embracing efficiencies can increase profitability to 40%.
