A heritage British brand of men’s wedding and formalwear accessories, offered for sale as a going concern
A long-established British brand with more than 160 years of history, designing and supplying a coordinated range of men’s wedding and formalwear accessories — ties, pocket squares, bow ties, cravats, braces, waistcoats, cufflinks and studs, and dress shirts. Some 3,000 stocked lines held in its own warehouse in the South East of England; around 400 active independent wedding and menswear retailers across the UK and Ireland ordering in small, frequent quantities as they sell through. Three-quarters of orders are placed on the brand’s own trade-only website. Particularly strong in wedding attire, Black Tie and White Tie formalwear and race-meeting formal accessories.
This transaction comprises the sale of a going concern, structured as a goodwill and asset sale, including stock at landed cost.
What is the opportunity for a buyer?
A trade buyer with its own warehouse, customer service and finance function could absorb the business with little or no incremental headcount, cross-sell the range into its own accounts and, most immediately, fund the range to full depth through the season. The vendor’s own sourcing office in China is available to the buyer for at least five years, or can be included.
What's on offer?
An asset sale: brand and IP, trade and goodwill, customer relationships and database, trade website and domain, stock at landed cost, designs and collateral, supplier introductions. At the buyer’s election: c.5,800 sq ft leasehold premises, two operational employees, the China sourcing office, transitional services. A staged retirement sale by an owner whose family has held the brand since the 1980s, with a comprehensive handover - including the full archive, from fabric swatches to garment designs.
Information Memorandum available on signature of confidentiality undertaking. Indicative offers invited by end November 2026; completion targeted for January 2027, ahead of 2027 wedding season.
