Business Details

Conveince Store Offlicence

Evelyn Street Shop – Established Business with Great Growth Potential

A great opportunity to take over an established convenience store with strong potential to grow, especially for a family or hands-on owner who can give the business more time and attention.

The shop is currently taking around £6,000 per week. However, last month and the month before, the shop was averaging approximately £8,400 per week. During strong periods in 2024, the shop was achieving around £12,000 per week.

Unfortunately, the previous owner went through difficult personal circumstances, which affected the business and caused sales to decline.

Since taking over, I have worked to improve the shop, but I also run other businesses, including a cash & carry and CCTV company. Because of these commitments, I simply cannot give this shop the time and attention it needs, which is the main reason for selling.

Strong Demand for Asian Groceries

There is strong demand from the local community, including around 200 Kera families living in the surrounding area. Many currently travel to Cardiff for Asian groceries, fresh fish and fresh vegetables because these products are not easily available locally.

From speaking with local customers and understanding the demand in the area, we estimate that a properly stocked Asian grocery range could generate approximately £2,000–£3,000 in additional sales per week.

Importantly, this £2,000–£3,000 estimate is for the Asian grocery range alone and would be additional to the shop's existing weekly turnover.

There is also demand for fresh fish and fresh vegetables, which provides another opportunity to increase sales and bring customers into the shop more regularly.

The demand is already there. I simply haven't had enough time to properly stock and develop this side of the business.

Premier Plan Already Approved

Premier has already approved the development plan, with only minor requirements remaining. This gives the new owner a clear opportunity to improve the product range and continue developing the business.

The shop is conveniently located near Booker, Costco and other cash & carry suppliers, making regular stock purchasing straightforward.

We have also recently partnered with a delivery company, creating another opportunity to reach more customers and increase sales.

Ready to Trade

The shop is ready to operate immediately, with no major changes required. A new owner can take over and continue trading from day one.

There is also space to add more shelving and expand the Asian grocery, fresh fish and vegetable ranges if desired.
