Hilton Smythe is instructed to offer for sale the entire issued share capital of an established franchised motorcycle main dealer in North West England. The company has traded for over fifteen years under continuous ownership and holds the franchise of a leading Japanese manufacturer for motorcycles, scooters, a specific quad bike model all terrain vehicle and side by side vehicles, with the motorcycle appointment awarded in 2025.

The business retails new and used machines, supported by an in-house service and repair workshop, a parts, clothing and accessories counter, FCA authorised retail finance broking and a branded e-commerce platform offering online purchase and nationwide delivery. It holds a long established consumer accreditation and in September 2026 was placed by the manufacturer in the top half of its United Kingdom dealer network.

The company relocated in 2025 to a freehold showroom and workshop of approximately 8,500 square feet with parking for 35 vehicles, which it refurbished to the manufacturer’s corporate identity standard. Two commercial agents have appraised the property at approximately £650,000. The freehold is available with the business, or the vendor will retain it and grant a lease at a market rent, at the purchaser’s election.

Turnover was £1.84m in the year to September 2024 and £1.31m in the relocation year to September 2025. The nine months to 30 June 2026 produced turnover of £1.46m, already ahead of the whole of the prior year, with the June 2026 quarter up 151% on the same quarter of 2025 according to filed VAT returns. Adjusted EBITDA for the nine months was approximately £120,000, against £170,000 to £220,000 a year in the three years before the move. Net assets at 30 June 2026 were approximately £692,000, including the freehold and stock of £795,000 at cost. New stock is funded through an interest free manufacturer stocking facility.

The business is not owner operated. A general manager of seventeen years’ standing runs the retail operation and a workshop manager of eleven years runs the service side. Both wish to remain following a sale. The company employs seven people in total.

The shareholder is retiring and will remain available for a handover period.
