Service Appliances specialises in the sale and repair of white goods, particularly washing machines, tumble dryers, refrigerators, freezers, cookers and small appliances.  In the UK there is still a preference for purchasing large household appliances in-store as opposed to online.  Additionally the perception that online is always cheaper is not the case.  Service Appliances is assisted by their Euronics membership which, amongst other benefits, provides buying power and premium advertising.  

The business enjoys a fantastic reputation for customer service.  This is evidenced by their very positive reviews and ratings of 4.9/5.0 on Google, 5.0/5.0 on Facebook and 5.0/5.0 on Yell.  

Stock at valuation (SAV) will be charged in addition to the purchase price and is expected to be in the region of £40,000. 

The proposed sale is as a result of the planned retirement of the two current owners.  One has worked for the business since 1979 and the other since 1983, a fact that endorses the long-term sustainability and stellar reputation of the business.

Trading Hours: The shop is open Monday-Friday: 9.00am-5.00pm, Saturday: 9.00am-1.00pm.  Deliveries, installation and repairs all take place during the shop’s opening hours.   

Employees: Both of the exiting owners work full-time in the business.  There is an experienced sales and delivery assistant who will transfer with the sale.  Some family members are also employed on a part-time basis, primarily to assist with administration.  They will not transfer. 

Location: Ideally located in Blandford Forum, opposite the Market Place and the Grade I listed Corn Exchange Building.    

Premises Details: Double-fronted, two storey premises totalling approx. 154.45 sq m/1,662 sq ft. 

Lease Terms: Our client has a 10 year lease that commenced in December 2022.  We are informed that the lease is contracted into the 1954 Landlord & Tenant Act and, as such, provides the tenant with the right of renewal.  Passing rent is £25,500 per annum, paid quarterly in advance.
