Ethicoco was born of frustration in 2012, by my good friend Lyndon, who was tired of finding poor quality chocolate for his young daughter, who suffers from nut and dairy allergies, so he decided to make his own!
Following his daughter's steps into adulthood at a time when Lyndon felt ready to move onto new ventures, he was making the decision to close Ethicoco for good, until a conversation with myself. I have been a big fan of the chocolate for some time and I was gutted to see it go, and so, we came to an agreement for me to buy Ethicoco in its entirety.
Sadly, after trying to set up and run the business in a new location, it hasn't worked out for me, particularly after trying to do all of my other jobs (and yoga studio Reno!) at the same time last year, which resulted in me having a mental breakdown. Off the back of this I have been diagnosed with ADHD, and this year has been a year of understanding myself and my capabilities more. With that came the decision to let Ethicoco go someone better able to manage all the minutiae with which I struggle the most; great chocolate can I make, but admin and marketing are a no!
I'm absolutely heartbroken it hasn't worked out, as I put so much into it, but I would love to find a new person who is just as passionate as producing ethical, delicious and healthier cacao products.
