Turnkey Mobile VR Cinema — 4.9★ from 545 Reviews — No Premises, Fully Relocatable
Mobile VR cinema trading since 2022 across Merseyside, Cheshire and the North West. Part of VR-HERE, established in Liverpool in 2016 — the trailer launched in 2022 alongside the original indoor VR site, which closed in 2023 post-Covid. The mobile unit has operated as the sole business since. Offered as a complete asset sale.
The unit
Four-seat VR cinema (two twin pods) built into a Debon C300 sandwich-panel trailer, with racing-style seats, full harnesses, LED interior and an external screen for spectators. Both sides open on gas-strut awnings and a step-free ramp gives level access — useful for school and inclusive-event work.
Roof-mounted solar PV with 5 kWh of on-board battery storage, plus a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV that both tows the trailer and powers it from its own battery or engine. No generator, no mains hook-up, no site power requirement. The unit trades anywhere it can be parked, which removes the single biggest constraint most mobile attractions face. Battery chemistry is fire-resistant, not lithium-ion.
Proven demand
4.9★ from 264 Google reviews and 4.9★ from 281 Tripadvisor reviews, plus a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice award. Tripadvisor describes it as one of the UK's most unique mobile virtual reality attractions. Three years trading at Liverpool ONE under agreement with Landsec, alongside schools, festivals, church and village fetes, corporate events, weddings and private hire.
Financials — year to April 2026
Turnover £27,905. Net profit £4,203 after all costs including £9,967 of crew wages.
That profit is stated after £5,232 of storage rent, £2,342 of accountancy fees and £819 of light and heat, none of which transfer to a buyer. On a transferring-costs basis the unit generated £12,919 of operating contribution from approximately 40 trading days.
The opportunity is unused capacity
Rates are £100 per hour, £700 for a full day, and £220 for a two-hour school session. Roughly 40 trading days last year means the unit was idle for the other 325.
It is designed for single-operator running and has regularly been run by one person — around £115 for an eight-hour day at current National Living Wage. Against a £700 booking, with fuel, each additional trading day contributes over £500. Twenty extra days a year more than doubles profit. The constraint has been the owner's availability, not demand.
This suits an existing attraction operator particularly well. Anyone with a trampoline park, soft play, farm park, holiday park, pier or arcade within reach can run the unit using staff already on the payroll, making marginal labour cost close to nil.
Two booking models
Public trading, where riders pay per session (typically £5). And buyouts, where a school, wedding, corporate client or event organiser pays a day or half-day rate and rides are free to guests — a confirmed fee, no dependency on footfall or weather, and no cash handling on site.
Three display screens (two internal, one on a mobile A-frame stand) allow sponsor or brand content to run alongside the VR experience, giving a further revenue option for corporate activations.
Competition
There are fixed-site VR installations in the region, but no directly comparable mobile VR cinema operating in the North West. A fixed site cannot attend a school, a village fete or a corporate event.
Included in the sale
Debon C300 trailer and full VR fit-out · solar PV and 5 kWh battery storage · 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV · VR headsets, PCs and control kit · three display screens and external spectator screen · VR film library including the exclusive custom-produced ride Liverpool Tower Rollercoaster · vr-here.co.uk domain and website · brand and social media accounts · Google Business Profile and Tripadvisor listing (subject to the buyer updating the registered address) · customer and enquiry history · risk assessments, method statements and operating documentation.
Forward bookings in place for September [insert value].
Handover
Two full days of training included: setup and breakdown, towing and siting, power system, headset and PC operation, running a session safely, harnessing and rider checks, and the booking and pricing model.
What's not included
No premises, no lease, no landlord — the buyer provides their own secure storage. No employees transfer and no employment liabilities pass to the buyer.
Reason for sale
The owner's time is fully committed to other businesses in Europe and Asia, involving frequent international travel. The trailer is profitable and enjoyable to operate but has been running well below its potential simply because there is no time to market it or take on more bookings.
Full accounts, kit inventory with serials, trailer plating, electrical certification and vehicle service history available to serious enquirers.
