Welcome to Privé Pilates, London’s first women’s-only, muslim & child-friendly Pilates studio, created to provide a safe, private, and supportive space for women.
Our Story & Mission
As a Muslim woman and mother, I personally struggled to find a space where I could exercise freely, without worrying about privacy, feeling exposed, or struggling with childcare. The fitness industry is filled with spaces that cater to all kinds of groups & communities, yet women like us—who require true privacy and comfort—are rarely considered.
After becoming a mother, these struggles became even more apparent. Finding childcare while prioritizing my own health seemed impossible, and I, like so many other women, put my well-being last. But discovering low-impact exercise, particularly Pilates, changed my life. After two children, I lost 40kg, regained my confidence, and found strength not just in my body, but in my mind.
Yet, throughout my journey as I searched for spaces that catered to women like me, I realized there were none. There wasn’t a single space that catered to our needs. That’s why I created Privé Pilates—because we deserve a space too.
A Space for an Overlooked Community
For too long, Muslim women and mothers have had nowhere to go for fitness and wellness that truly accommodates their faith, modesty, and lifestyle. Privé Pilates is more than just a studio—it’s a movement to provide a space where women who have been left out of the fitness world can finally belong.
At Privé Pilates, we are not just another facility —we are a community built to empower, uplift, and represent a group of women who have never had a dedicated space before. Our mission is to break barriers and show that health, wellness, and movement should be accessible to all women—no matter their faith, beliefs, background, ethnicity, sexuality or personal needs.
Our Commitment to Inclusivity and Safe Spaces
At Privé Pilates, our mission has always been to provide a safe, private, and welcoming space for women—particularly Muslim women and mothers—who have long struggled to find fitness environments that accommodate their faith, modesty, and lifestyle needs. Our studio was created as an addition to the diverse range of fitness spaces available, ensuring that another underrepresented group has a place where they feel fully comfortable and respected.
We want to emphasize that our policies are not designed to exclude or discriminate against any group, but rather to uphold the trust and privacy of the women we serve, many of whom adhere to strict religious guidelines. From our CCTV policies to our hidden location and no-filming rules, every aspect of Privé Pilates has been carefully designed to meet the unique needs of this community—one that has rarely had dedicated spaces to move and exercise freely.
We recognize that no single space can be everything to everyone, and just as other fitness studios cater to different communities, our studio exists to serve a specific group of women who otherwise struggle to find a place where they truly belong. We believe that true inclusivity means ensuring that everyone has spaces where they feel safe, seen, and supported—whether that be in our studio or in the many other incredible fitness spaces designed for different needs.
Our hope is that we can all respect each other’s spaces and the reasons they exist. We are committed to fostering a culture of mutual understanding and coexistence, where different communities can thrive without feeling like their needs are being compromised. Outside regular scheduled class hours, everyone is welcome at our studio to attend private classes/events.
We deeply appreciate the conversations around this topic and remain dedicated to ensuring that Privé Pilates remains a sanctuary for the women it was built for, while also standing firm in our belief that every community deserves spaces where they feel at home.
