Fencing supply business for sale, established for over 40 years. I took the business on a few years ago and focused on growing the online side alongside the existing trade customers, which has worked well and led to good growth. Turnover has increased from around £636k to approximately £875k within the last year (around 38% growth), with steady demand from both trade and retail customers.
Day to day it’s a straightforward setup – orders come in via the website, phone or trade customers, then it’s a case of picking from stock and either delivering or customer collection. There’s a good mix of repeat trade and online work which keeps things ticking over consistently.
Stock along with panel-making jigs, nail machines and general workshop equipment available so it’s a complete setup ready for someone to take over and carry on trading straight away. All supplier accounts and systems are already in place.
The business currently turns over around £875k, with gross profit of roughly £230k and net profit in the region of £60k after all costs. There’s definitely room for someone to take it further, either by pushing the online side more or tightening up margins.
We have also done fencing installation work, which brings in extra income and could be developed further if someone wanted to go more down that route.
The business is currently run from a yard which isn’t included in the sale, but it’s flexible and could easily be relocated depending on the buyer’s setup.
It would suit someone already in construction, landscaping or fencing, as it could be bolted onto an existing operation quite easily, but would also work as a standalone business.
Only reason for sale is I’m looking to move into a different line of business. Happy to help with a handover to make the transition smooth.
