Rhyd Ddu is a small village in Snowdonia, North Wales. It is a starting point for walks up Mount Snowdon (via the Rhyd Ddu path) and is in close proximity to Mynydd Mawr and the Nantlle Ridge. The Rhyd Ddu Railway Station serves the village and is one of the stops on the Welsh Highland Railway between Caernarfon and Porthmadog. The area is steeped in historic Welsh culture with the Sygun Copper Mine, Bedgellert village, Caernarfon Castle and the stunning Llyn Cwellyn Reservoir all close by.
