Our business creates handmade reclaimed wooden furniture in our Devon workshop and ship UK wide.
Our website is Shopify based roughly 80% of sales, and Etsy generates 20% of our sales. We make everything to order, and often do bespoke pieces for our customers. Customers can request any size , and enjoy having a bespoke service.
We have a range of furniture that includes but not limited to Dining tables and benches Breakfast bars, bookcases, butchers blocks, coffee tables, Outdoor Tables, console tables, bedside tables, tv stands, shelving and more.
We regularly get bespoke orders from corporate clients, and we have worked with restaurants, bnbs, and landlords across the country.
We have a dedicated courier that comes to us once a week to collect our items and ships them to our customers with a specialist service.
Our workshop is well stocked with everything required, and we have 2 staff that run the business day to day. We have an agency that handles our most of our customer service.
One owner replies to Etsy messages and live chat enquiries for about 5-10mins a day and also does 1 day of admin each week.
The other owner does 3 days of welding each week, however we do have another person who comes in and does part time welding when we are very busy, who would be happy to take on this role.
We have a great community at our premesis, with many small businesses running on the estate that are niche.
Our main suppliers are local, and we have a long working history with them.
Our business has been running successfully for over 10 years, and since having children I wish to spend more time focusing on them and my new sauna business.
There are many things that can be implemented and improved upon that would lead to a much greater turnover, I have not done these as since my children were born I have been focusing on them.
The business can run independently without much input, and there are lots of places where it could be automated in regard to admin and the workshop itself.
