The village of Abersychan stands just north of the town of Pontypool, on the main A4043 trunk route from Pontypool (two miles) to Blaenavon (four miles).  The A4042 trunk route south from Pontypool provides dual carriageway access to the M4 motorway (12 miles).  The nearby town of Blaenavon is now a World Heritage Site being the home of the Big Pit Mining Museum.

The New Inn stands on the village’s High Street, adjacent to a Fish and Chip Shop and convenience store, with a public car park to the side and a Chapel beyond. Other surrounding buildings are all residential properties housing customers, the New Inn being unopposed in the immediate area.

The premises is a substantial property of stone and brick construction with part rendered, colourwashed elevations under a pitched slate roof. It offers extensive accommodation over three storeys and is maintained to a good standard throughout. It has been in the same owners' hands since 2019, and they have decided to relinquish their interest as they wish to move closer to family in another part of the country.
