It is linked to Desborough and these have a combined population of over 20,000. The hotel is in an elevated prime location in the centre of the town. It is about a 2 minute drive to the A14, a major trunk road which links Birmingham to East Anglia. It is about an 8 minute drive to the centre of Kettering.
Althrop House, the childhood home of Princess Diana, and is less than half an hour’s drive from the hotel. Rockingam Castle is about a 15 minute drive away.
The hotel has 22 ensuite bedrooms, a 2 bedroomed apartment (currently used as a letting room), and onsite parking. It has good storage areas. It has a quaint traditional bar with a working open fireplace. It has a larger bar/function room, which is used for small weddings, wakes, private parties and a carvery. Last year, a large section of the roof was replaced and a chimney has been re-built.
There are not any decent quality and large sized hotels for sale in Northamptonshire or Oxfordshire. This is chiefly because ensuite bedrooms fetch top B & B price and achieve high occupancies.
