LOCATION:

The business operates from a secure, open yard in a South Hampshire village close to the M3 and Winchester.

BUSINESS:

This family-owned business has been solving access problems for its industrial, commercial, and domestic clients since 1977. The company hires and erects aluminum scaffold towers, bridging units, cantilevers, and facade scaffolding plus staircases. All scaffold towers are supplied and erected to HD 1004 1992 and BS EN 1298, BS11 Part 3 1994 by experienced, highly-trained, and competent staff all of whom hold PASMA cards and are CHAS registered.

The customer base includes roofing companies who account for approximately 25% of turnover, and Housing Associations (35%) with the remaining 40% of turnover shared equally among window installers, painting contractors, and D-I-Y retail customers.

BUSINESS PREMISES:

(all sizes are approximate & should be considered 'nominal'.)

All scaffold stock is stored within a secure, open yard in a South Hampshire village near Winchester. Sales and Admin functions are home-based.

TENURE:

The yard storage area is secured on a renewable 5-year lease which commenced in 2020 at a current annual rent of £19,200. The next review is due in 2025. The Landlord has confirmed a new 5 year lease is available on favourable terms.

RATES:

The rateable value of the business premises is £ZERO with £ZERO Rates payable in 2023/24.

NOTE: This information has been obtained either from the current rate demand for the property, by telephone from the local authority, or by reference to the VOA website. The amount payable is the standard rate for the Rateable Value shown. In some circumstances, this may vary, and therefore it is recommended that potential buyers make their inquiries through the local authority to check the applicable rateable value and whether the rates payable will be the figure quoted above.

TRADE:

Latest information available show sales revenues for the 12 months ended 31 December 2025 to have reached £351,355 with gross profits of £346,257 and Adjusted Net Profits of £130,064. This result compares to the previous year when turnover reached £459,435 with gross profits of £450,795 and Adjusted Net Profits of £188,212. This downturn accounts for the reduction in the asking price. Staff shortages during the period and a general tightening of the construction sector caused the downturn.

Please note that all figures exclude VAT.

COMMENTS:

The owner’s decision to retire has created an exciting opportunity for an existing scaffold hire company to add a significant product offering to existing services or for a new operator to build on the solid foundations laid down over the past 46 years.
