The Plough Inn is situated in a great location opposite the Hickling Basin, a popular rural dog walking and cycling area. There is a café at the basin that is well used and encourages visitors to the area. Hickling is halfway across in the famous Cross Briton Way, a coast-to-coast walking route. It is approximately 25min from the centre of Nottingham and about 30min from the centre of Leicester city centre. Hickling is an affluent village that is mainly residential and has 3 working dairy farms. Surrounding villages use the pub well.

Lounge/Restaurant Area
This modern extension has been blended well with the older part of the pub. Its open, airy and bright south facing room. Flooring is a honey-coloured oak effect luxury vinal tile, anti-slip, easy to clean. An L-shape room it has views of the huge beer garden. Wheelchair accessible from the car park its near to our accessible WC. This area works well as seating area for diners, function space for parties, wakes, buffets, games night, quizzes, dance floor, bands and DJS.
Pool/Games Area
This area currently has a pool table that is well used. Could also be used for seating (pool table and be moved into a nook around the corner. Decorated with half panelled walls, wooden beams and historic pictures. Same LVT flooring as the lounge.
Bottom Bar
The new tiled floor is light in colour and is slip resistant. 2 tall tables seating 4-6. The bar itself is newly built and is very clean and functional. 2 double width sliding doors fridges, coffee machine (free on loan), Tall back bar with plenty of storage. Back bar wall 5 craft beer taps, front bar 5 ale hand pulls, font with 4 taps, coke dispenser. POS Till. Glass washer, water softener and glass washing area.
Top Bar
Recently refurbished to reveal original wooden flooring, stained to dark colour. This room is bright with large sash windows on 3 sides of the room overlooking the wharf and the beer garden. It has 2 entrances and a bar. Perfect for dining, drinking, quizzing and private hire events.
WCs
Ladies includes 2 WCs, Gents includes 3 urinals and 1 WC, accessible WC includes basin and baby changing unit.
