The Real Ale Corner was founded in June 2009 by two brothers (who still drink here). They wanted to offer a one-stop shop for a wide range of local bottled beers, plus a couple of ever changing cask beers. The conversion from an old chemist shop to a licenced premise, though they didn’t realise it at the time, created the first micropub in Derbyshire and only the second in the UK. !
Since its inception, the pub has had a few different owners, with one consistent theme, selling a wide range of quality beer served just as they should be. The offering has grown from Derbyshire beers, to UK and worldwide offerings.
The RAC (as its known locally) has a very strong regular customer base built up over the years. Its on the main road with parking up to two hrs is available at the local supermarket 100m away. The main road goes to Chatsworth House and the Peak District so an opportunity to further develop this passing trade.
Keen to keep up with the latest trends, but not forgetting tradition, the latest owner (since April 2019) has continued to invest and now offers three cask beers, four keg beers, bag-in-box ciders and over 120 different craft beers for consumption on and off the premises.
