Performance Overview

Business details

Gate Jobs was founded with a mission to bridge the divide between businesses and job seekers in rural areas across the UK. Since its launch in February 2023, the platform has facilitated the sharing of more than 400 job vacancies specifically tailored for the rural landscape of North Yorkshire. With this initial success, Gate Jobs is poised to expand its reach nationwide, aspiring to become 'The Nation's Local Job Board.'

About the Company

Gate was started by Jodie McGregor after she identified an issue with job searching in the rural area of North Yorkshire she grew up in; businesses didn’t have a suitable platform to share their vacancies and job seekers couldn’t search easily for jobs in their local area. She built the online job board and it has helped fill many vacancies in the small area she has focused on.

Products & Services

Businesses pay a flat fee to post their job vacancy on the website job board, it is then shared across social media and with our ever increasing mailing list. Prices range from £40 to £75.
The service is free for job seekers to use.

Conclusion

Gate has experienced a great start in a localised area and proven there is a need for this service with £20k turnover in Year 1 . The business is now ready to be taken to a bigger audience with more marketing activties and business development. The founder has been running the business whilst working full time and has bootstrapped the business to this point; there is huge scope to increase all business activities to create a greater volume of users, revenue and profit.
