TRADE:
Accounts inspected by Adams & Co show turnover for the year ended 31 March 2022 of £5,281,415 with Gross Profits of £1,908,640 and Adjusted Net Profits of £1,319,830 confirming business levels have returned to pre-Covid trading when compared to the year ended 31 March 2020 with turnover of £5,539,096, Gross Profits of £1,868,946 (34%) and Adjusted Net Profits of £1,283,116. 2021 financials were impacted in the first 4 months of the period with all the Major housebuilders shutting their sites from March to June. The smaller developments were also impacted but less so with the business continuing to trade but at a lower level. The company's revenue growth has been consistently above market since incorporation. 2014 and 2015 saw growth of 28% and 30% respectively with a further 21% growth in 2016. During 2017 and 2018 the company reported smaller percentage revenue growth in a UK market that was contracting, however give the companies tight control on variable cost and their low fixed cost base, this market contraction has not significantly affected profitability or net cash. In 2019 growth continued with revenue in excess of £5.5m but with some pressure on rates in Q3 Q4. Further investment in plant and equipment has been made to secure orders excess of 5.8m at the end of the fiscal year. Order backlog is 1.05x revenue. 2020 reported a lower revenue number than the previous year due to the lower order intake in 2019 but with an increase in EBIT. 2021 shows the impact of COVID during the first 4 months of the reporting period, further detail is reported below. 2022 has seen a return to the pre-covid numbers with backlog and revenue increasing above the 2020 position with closing backlog in excess of £6.2m which based on historic performance indicates a strong 2023 forecast.
