Successful, established pre school musical activity group. Great potential for development

FunkyMunky Music is a succcesful, well established and well attended, extremely popular, pre-school group for Parent/Carers and their children, run on a drop in basis, at three venues around the Stroud (Gloucestershire) area. There is a huge potential for expansion to other areas and venues in the district: currently offering three sessions per week there is an undisputed demand for more. We also provide party sessions, and are booked for other events such as weddings/christenings/ festivals/ toddler group parties etc. FunkyMunky Music is firmly established as a leading children's group within the area, and was a finalist for the Best Baby and Toddler Group in Gloucestershire for 2018.

The business is not a franchise, and is operated as a sole trader. The content, and all props will therefore be owned outright on purchase of the business. (All songs and activities use good quality props for each child. the majority are Puppet Company finger puppets, but there are many other ypes of props too). Currently there are about 50 songs used within the business, each with it's own set of props, and many sets of themed mats for 'sitting songs'.

The equipment includes a portable, very powerful, 'Block rocker', microphone, Nexus with all used songs, Industrial Bubble Machine, Industrial Snow Machine, and bubble supllies for around a year. There are other minor incidentals included, such as a large quantity of 'going home' pictures and prizes, mugs and children (Ikea) feeding spout / beakers, boxes of craft items used for Christmas parties etc.

There is a FaceBook page with over 600 followers, and a fully set up web site (WP), with no fees due until late 2020. The business is also fully insured until April 2020.

• What is FunkyMunky Music all about?

  Using a variety of songs and incorporating movements and dance children are encouraged in their personal, social and emotional development. Use of props such as finger puppets, rhythm sticks, bunny ears, play parachutes and other items increases the fun and encourages participation with songs new and old. There are frequent movement opportunities which serve to develop both fine and gross motor skills while underpinning literacy, and encouraging children to link movement with sound and words. By learning simple co-ordination of their bodies, singing and memorising rhyme and keeping in rhythm to a steady beat, children can be actively engaged in developing their literacy skills.

• The singing and activities are led by Purple Monkey, and at the end of every session there is a storm of bubbles for children to catch and pop, and a picture to take home and colour in (children bringing back their coloured-in picture can choose a small party gift from the table).

  There is a mid-session break when there will be a variety of hot drinks for the mummies/daddies/carers and water or juice for the children.

  Our prices include drinks and delicious homemade cakes for everyone: – for the children these are generally carrot and orange cakes, with an option of rice cakes for children who prefer these or are on special diets. For adults we have a ‘naughtier’ range of cakes, including chocolate tiffin every week! (During this break, we sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to anyone who might have a birthday close to the session).
