Yorkshire Bonsai is a family owned business, started by Paul & Dan, brother in laws.
If you can excuse the pun, we have grown the business from seed. Nurtured, watered and put an immense amount of time and effort to turn it into one of the country'S leading Bonsai retailers.
Growth has been consistent month on month, year on year with last year'S total revenue reaching over £267000. Given the right levels of focus and input there is potential for this growth trend to continue for many years.
The business comes with a superb reputation, including 4.8/5 (Excellent) rating on Trustpilot and 5/5 stars on Google Reviews. The current newsletter subscriber list contains over 10,000 bonsai enthusiasts, the majority of which are customers.
The website has processed over 10,000 orders in under three years trading, boasting a higher than industry average conversion rate. Average order value is approximately £38 and a returning customer rate of over 12%.
Business processes and supplier relationships have been built and refined into a smooth operation meaning a transition would be quick and relatively simple. We are happy to provide support post-sale (terms/period to be agreed to ensure a smooth handover) and would also consider a part purchase for an equity share in the business. The business could comfortably be run and operated, at it'S current size, by one person.
The business is currently based in Leeds, UK but, as the business is primarily ecommerce, there are few limitations/restrictions on business location and the operation could easily be moved to new premises.
In addition to direct website sales, we are prominently placed within third party marketplaces such as eBay, Etsy and recently Amazon. We also collaborate with an Affiliate Network platform which brings in a healthy percentage of sales, with huge scope to grow.
In addition to public consumer sales we also work with and have developed relationships with larger corporate, garden centre and trade customers who place larger orders with us. Furthermore, several events companies and large corporates with bespoke/branded requirements have used us to provide their clients with a unique experience and/or gifts.
