Range of products and services
Our client’s primary range of products are:
· Windows: Casement, tilt and turn, and UPVC sliding sash windows are available in various sizes, styles and colours, manufactured using Eurologik and Modus profile systems. All windows manufactured and installed by our client are “A” rated, meaning they are optimised to be energy efficient.
· Doors: The range encompasses UPVC front and back doors, composite doors, French doors, Aspect bi-fold doors and in-line sliding patio doors, French doors (a double-door style), bi-fold doors (used to create outside-inside living space) and sliding patio doors (used to allow a greater amount of natural light in).
· Conservatories: Our client offers Victorian conservatories (a design with a rounded front and ornate detailing), Edwardian conservatories (featuring a flat front and a square or rectangular shape for efficient space use), gable-ended conservatories (characterised by a vertical front roof for added space), P, T, and L-Shaped conservatories (versatile designs shaped as the letters suggest) and lean-to conservatories (a simple design with a single sloped roof, often attached to the house). They also offer two roofing options: the Equinox Tile system (a roofing system offering a tiled appearance) and Skypod lantern roofs (a glass roof that enhances natural light).
The company provides a 10-year warranty on all installed products (except where indicated above).
Although not advertised on their website, the company also offers fascia and soffit installation to clients. Generally, an outside contractor is used for this type of work as it is less profitable than window, door or conservatory work. If the contractor is unavailable, the in-house fitting team can perform the job. Our client also sells wholesale to three customers, one using them exclusively to supply bi-fold doors.
Staffing and management
The two owners of the business take an active part in its management, although, in recent years, they have begun transferring responsibility over to their staff.
The company has a factory director, a team of fabricators, a team of fitters and two office administrators.
Workspace and assets
Our client operates from 466m2 premises in Willand, Devon. Their office is based here as is the manufacturing facility. There are 14 car parking spaces. The rent is £2,887.50 per month. These are leased premises - this is year six of a 10-year lease with the next rent review in 2025. Our client is responsible for paying for repairs and insurance.
The company has full production facilities and a fleet of vehicles. An abbreviated asset register is provided within the information memorandum for your inspection.
Split of sales
The vast majority of our client’s trade is one-off domestic and commercial installations. Their two largest clients in the past financial year accounted for 23% of revenues and are two newly built residential construction companies.
