Winchmore Hill Dog Walking was founded in 2012 by a retired police officer who wished to remain active during retirement. Because of the excellent service offered, the business grew almost by accident to become a registered company with four vans, six employees and an annual turnover of £400,000 per annum.
COVID 19 then arrived meaning customers were then working from home and mostly walking their own dogs. The business almost died overnight. Post COVID, a decision was made not to grow the business to its previous size. Winchmore Hill Dog Walking is no longer incorporated and is now de-registered for VAT. There is currently sufficient work to keep the owner working five hours a day, five days a week, and his wife three hours a day, four days a week for a profit of £4,800 per month.
We are currently turning work down on a daily basis as we have no wish, or need to grow the business again although the scope for a return to pre COVID levels for any purchaser of the business is huge.
We also receive daily requests for daycare and boarding which we also currently have to turn down. There is a huge market for these services for the person that has the scope to provide them.
The business is extremely well respected in the local community and it's distinctively liveried van is very well known. We have a reputation for extreme reliability and honesty, and a caring attitude towards both our human and our canine customers
The purchaser of this business will receive a substantial customer base, thewhdw.co.uk domain which appears on the first page of a Google search. (Our website is not currently connected to the domain as we were receiving too many enquiries). A modern, fully equipped, caged and livered van. The well known WHDW phone number. Sufficient time with the seller to be introduced to the current customers and their dogs.
I have stressed that we are a very caring business. Our wish is for this reputation to continue. We know our customers very well and would wish to ensure that they are well looked after going forward as they have been in the past. We would much rather sell our business to an equally caring person who is able to submit a reasonable offer, than somebody less caring paying the asking price.
