Comrie is an attractive Perthshire town with a population of circa 1,900 persons serving a much larger rural hinterland. The town is widley regarded as a gateway to the Highlands, at the western end of the Strathearn district and south of the Grampian Mountains.

The town is popular as a retirement village, typically having a large proportion of the population over 65 years.
