While the business is going from strength to strength, as the owner, I am entertaining the notion of potentially stepping back somewhat.
We have been open for nearly three years, building on a quirky atmosphere of Victorian curiosities and traditional British Cocktail making. Known as the most unique experience in the city, this is an opportunity for someone to step in as a business starts to truly thrive, with an opportunity for expansion into food and a private rental room. Skills regarding the ability to do this are easily transferable, and the intent is to ensure that whoever takes on the business is trained in these affects. While I am willing to take a step away if the price is right, I also have the utmost intent of making this continue to work for a long period after my leave. Any requests regarding that subject as a condition of sale are more than welcome.
Our ISP is that we are a bar and an antique shop, with everything in the building for sale, alongside traditional mixed drinks. We are 'secret' to an extent, putting forward the frontage of an abandoned shop but with a posh antique interior, which is intended to create an air of exclusivity. One could potentially elaborate on this and increase sales through rather tactical marketing in the future.
As a small but popular premises, we have seen such success as national television coverage, a robust local reputation and, prior to the first lockdown, an average turn-away every Saturday - because we were full - of 100-150 potential guests. Take this, on top of no business rates and a very low rent, in a city centre location, it's definitely an attractive prospect.
We have the whole building under the same lease, so expansion upstairs to the use of a kitchen or private rental rooms could also be used in tandem with on-site accommodation for any potential management personnel. The freeholder is very amicable to ideas for expansion or general changes to the premises.
If you are interested and want any further information, or just a talk about the proposition, please do not hesitate to contact us.
The turnover listed on this advert is based on the four weeks since opening after lockdown, projected in to the next year. This is a conservative estimate, as Covid restrictions heavily limit our ability to turn tables over at maximum capacity.
Please note that the Google Maps image below is of the shop before we acquired it, prior to the refit for this business' purposes.
