Situated south of Sedgley in the West Midlands, Upper Gornal is home to the Jolly Crispin which has been serving its loyal locals since 1795. This longstanding haven for real ale aficionados also has a small independent brewery on site that is perennially popular with the loyal local trade. The site has nine handpulls and always has two traditional ciders on the bar.
Traditionally decorated throughout the Crispin is a dog-friendly pub with an open fire and large car park. With a dart board available team games are a regular part of the offer here. There is some kitchen space. However, this has not always been a success. Externally there is a beer garden with two marquees that are used for regular events outside.
The Jolly Crispin is a community-led, specialist ale house that attracts visitors from across the country and regularly features in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide. The site is famous for its cask beers, charitable events and open fires in the winter. This pub is FREE OF TIE on cask ales and scrumpy ciders, wines, spirits and soft drinks and it offers much scope to improve profits with operators who are ready to be truly hands on.
The site requires a fully committed couple who have a passion for cask ales and people. High standards and exceptional customer service are an absolute must as is a mature outlook as the customer profile is 30 plus. The pub would not suit a family with young children.
This consist of two bedroom accommodation with a small lounge, kitchen, bathroom and extra toilet. This is accessed from behind the bar.
