The Seymour is a well established bed and breakfast establishment in a very sought after area of Plymouth, Devon. Situated right on Plymouth Hoe, the Guest House is in a great spot with the City Centre, Bus & Train Stations, Brittany Ferry Port and historic Barbican all within a short walking distance. We are in a very pretty Victorian terraced cul-de-sac, that has been best street winners in the Plymouth in Bloom annual competition and the guest house has also won awards.

The property is a 4 storey building with the basement flat being entirely for the owners use. With a lovely spacious lounge with feature fireplace, kitchenette, small office, a newly refurbished bedroom and large bathroom with jacuzzi bath. It has a rear yard with decked seating area and gated access to the road. This rear area also has a brick built storeroom and a separate brick built laundry room with shelving, 2 washing machines and a tumble drier.

There are 7 bedrooms, with the 5 doubles / twin rooms being en-suite and 2 singles that have a washbasin but share a shower room with two separate toilets. All of the sanitary ware is white, modern and of a good quality. Lovely comfortable bedrooms with excellent fixtures & fittings. All of the guest rooms have new beds & mattresses, flat screen digital TVs with DVD / CD players, beverage trays, kettles, hairdryers, toiletries / dispensers, wooden tissue boxes and alarm clocks.

A lot of effort has been made in the last few years to bring the property up to a very good standard. The building is in an excellent condition throughout. The outside is nicely painted and the roof has been inspected and is sound. All of the guest rooms and communal areas have been tastefully decorated in neutral shades. The light fittings, lamps and pictures are modern and carpets have been replaced in all the bedrooms (2015)

The business is run by husband and wife with no extra staff at present. Busy all year, trading just below VAT level which is a really good turnover for the cost of the property. We have traded successfully all through the recession.
Plymouth is a thriving City and is a mixed flow of guests with business clients as well as tourists. It is a military and University City which brings a lot of visitors to the area. Also it has a continental ferry port bringing guests from France and Spain.

As Plymouth is right on the border of Devon and Cornwall it makes a great base to tour the South West. There is a shortage of guest accommodation in Plymouth particularly at busy times and when its many events take place, so there is not a great deal of competition. Also the 3 other guest houses in the cul-de-sac all communicate in a friendly atmosphere, passing trade on to each other.
