We enjoy custom from locals and tourists, however in the summer months, when tourism is at its highest, the shop is at its busiest.
Dos Mundos sells mainly fair trade and eco clothes, accessories and crafts. We began by importing clothes direct but now use mainly UK based fair trade suppliers- Nomads, Namaste, Braintree etc. (Logistics of this is easier with young children but potential is there to develop own contacts whilst travelling).
The small shop is easy to run, and only requires one member of staff. Opening hours are currently Mon- Sat 10-5, we close Sunday because of our religion but with Sunday being a busy day for tourists in the town, opening this day would increase profits.
Turnover has increased to £60, 000p. A. With further growth occuring in the current financial year. Overheads are extremely low due to low rent and rates.
Sale of shop would include all current stock which is estimated around £15, 000 (cost price), fixtures and fittings, website (recently developed:www. Dosmundos. Co. Uk). The lease is flexible, we are able to come out of it and new tenants agree length of lease with landlord.
