I work from home and have 1 (non sign-written) white Iveco Daily XLWB panel van with built-in tail lift.
In this first year I have turned over £25, 000. It has cost £2, 400 in diesel to cover 12500 miles, averaging 30mpg. As a rough guide, my insurances and public liability costs £2, 600 per annum.
I get a regular supply of work from the storage companies, partly due to being friendly, cost effective and reliable, but also due to the fact that my van is sufficiently capacious for most people. I could also offer clients an extra pair of hands as and when required.
My 2005 Iveco has been very reliable and currently has 192, 000 miles on the clock.
It has ABS, Traction Control, Remote Locking, Electric Windows, Electric Heated Mirrors and I have installed a Blaupunkt MP68 Bluetooth head unit and Clarion Sat-Nav, which will stay with the van.
It has MOT until 14/04/2012 and tax until 31/03/2012. It has had a recent M2 service which included a new cambelt, water pump, radiator, propshaft bearings, rear dampers and leaf spring bushes. The inside of this van hides the mileage well, with only the wear on the steering wheel giving it away. The seats are full adjustable and very comfy and it is a great van for long distances.
