Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to look at The Gluten Free Beer Collective and consideration about possibly taking on ownership.
Background
The idea for the company came about during the lockdown of 2020. We were all a bit low so my partner bought her dad a mixed case of craft ales online to cheer him up and I thought I’d do the same for my dad, who is gluten free. However, when I tried to source a similarly varied, gluten free mixed case, I discovered none was available. Something had to be done to fill this void in the market! My passion for beer has grown hugely since I began researching the surprising variety of independent craft beers available nowadays for the gluten free drinker. Today the fruits of my hard labours, tasting and choosing from hundreds of unique brews (dirty, filthy work but someone’s got to do it!) are here for all gluten free drinkers to enjoy.
12% of the UK is now gluten free and nobody has yet fully claimed this space meaning there is a massive addressable market, with a captured population who are also very loyal to brands when they find they meet their needs, giving great long-term potential! There is also a fantastic scope for B2B as nobody has yet made a move to claim this space and B2B companies are more necessitating gluten free products due to the growing population.
We are now partnered with some fantastic breweries producing beer of such distinctive character, flavour and identity that I have come to realise they are some of the best beers I have ever drunk, gluten free or otherwise! We’re now ready to show you how great gluten free beer can really be.
Customers have loved their orders so far, with our Trustpilot boasting 2.5-star reviews and a public overall rating of 4.7/5.
Reason For Sale
I am lucky enough to also own another business which has hit a serious spot of growth and requires my full-time attention, so I am looking to sell the company with stock, established relationships, brand assets a fully functional website with functional and outsourced fulfilment (from the best in the business) to someone who has the time and passion to push the marketing and make this company as good as it can potentially be! I am truly still passionate about the cause and ensuring that the company continues to offer the best gluten free beers to the market, it just needs someone with the time and drive to push the marketing as this is all that really needs doing as we have our supply chain sorted and everything is fully functional, it just needs time invested and has an amazing scope for growth.
Remote Ability
I always aimed to set the company up so that it would work remotely to allow me the option of living wherever around the country as I have yet to settle and call one place home, meaning that it can be taken over by you from anywhere in the world and has no geographical or specific working hour tie-inns. The stock is all held at the warehouse of our fulfilment partner Flavourly (who have the best-established fulfilment in the industry) meaning that we only touch product we order down for promotions.
The role of the incoming buyer would be to select a new fulfilment service or preferably take this in house to really cut back on costs and increase the profitability and focus on the sales and marketing aspects, as the business is now set-up and functionally running very well. Stock is in the warehouse, relationships are established, Instagram is rapidly growing and things are all moving in the right direction!
Finances
We have been legally operating since incorporation in July 2021, and have submitted full tax returns for this financial year. Our EOY accounts are just being finalised. We only went operational in mid-August 2022 and to now sales total £2.7,000, with a circa 17% margin on sales. As you’ll see these figures simply show that there is an appetite for such a company but as we haven’t had the proper time to invest in marketing the potential sales are pretty high!
Stock
We have circa £2K worth of stock which is currently stored in our fulfilment company’s chilled warehouse and is split between 54 SKUs. This product is dated between the next month to the back end of 2023 and will be sold at cost. We also have some credit notes for two breweries which are also included at cost.
We are also the exclusive UK supplier for the top-quality Millet made NGCI lager from Suspect Brewery, who we are currently planning on partnering up with to co-brew and brand beers in the future. This is one of only four UK made NGCI beers!

Pricing
Given the massive amount of work and the true business-in-a-box nature with strong branding, I am looking for £15,000 which I think is very reasonable given the low running costs, established supply chain, strong relationships with current and upcoming breweries including exclusive discounts from certain suppliers.
Mainly you’re buying a fully operational company with upcoming marketing, a newly published professional image bank and being in a real place with massive growth potential and a growing market, with 12% of the UK now following a gluten free diet.
I am open to price discussions, however I will not be moving far and I am in no rush to sell as I know the business has serious potential, and I am happy to maintain a state of dormancy for a while then kick things back off when time comes back around if needed.
