The optometry business was established post 2nd World War in Coventry, West Midlands. It has been in my possession for nearly 31 years. It is on a main road location. and has an ethnically diverse patient base. There is no competition in the surrounding area. The sale includes fixtures and fitting. We are MECs registered and I see this as an area for expansion and hence differentiation from multiple optics. New equipment is required.
The stock will be sold at a valuation and is currently £4500. The turnover is approx £60,000. Since becoming a grandad, some seven years now I have been working reduced hours and since covid have been working Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings. We are fully booked and have no need to advertise and are not sending out reminders. I have one part-time receptionist.
We have an excellent reputation and looking to sell the goodwill of the business. I are looking for someone who perhaps tired of being a drone in multiple optics. My IT skills are practically non existant so thereis huge scope to embrace E marketing and e-reminders to patients, social media and emails. The reason behind the sale is retirement. The sale is for the freehold of £12000 and goodwill of £45000. The latter is negotiable on the understanding that I wish to be out by the end of the year at latest. I am willing to help in the transition period and can certainly tell you what not do
