For the past 3 yrs of trading, VDub Campers has been an all encompassing business, so, as a result the latest year accounts ending Dec 09 do not reflect the new finances of VDub Campers stand alone business model. Seeing that VDUB Campers Ltd now has greatly reduced overheads and fixed costs, the profit margin will be increased. Certain aspects of the old business model on paper, do not yet show abundant profit due to re-investment in, machinery, workspace, equipment, vehicle purchases, directors loans, salaries for garage employees (directors loans are from our own pockets not banks. ) Items such as this are obviously offset against the profit, which is why the accounts do not necessarily marry up with our verbal estimated turnover and profit margin. The sales turnover has been consistently between £26-£30k for the last 2 seasons. Last season we only added the 3rd vehicle part way through the season June 25th. Our sales target is realistically set at 14 weeks hire per vehicle. A weeks hire is at £650 plus extra's (awnings, bike racks, tables, chairs etc), the profit to hire ratio can actually be increased by accepting shorter hires e. G 2 x 3 day hires per week. The hire season really starts in April and is mostly over mid September. So a very nice margin for only 6 months minimal effort. We choose to hire only for this period, because it keeps the vehicles off the road during the poor weather, it also keeps the car tax down by £270, and means we do not need to advertise all year round. We only advertise on one VW web portal which is www. Vwcampers. Co. Uk. Google analytics proves that this is a worth while advertising forum, showing a generated number of targeted specific hits of 1100 per year at a cost of £350. Google adwords would cost £1800 for this amount of traffic. On the whole a profitable growing business. So why are we selling?
