We built up a strong following in London and at Art Fairs over the years. In 2006 we took the present premises in Hampshire and traded very successfully, turning over £440,000 in 2007-2008. We are open from 10.30 am - 6.30pm Monday to Saturday. There are several other art outlets in the town but we do not regard them as competition, but complimentary, as we show the work of different Artists and complement each other. We also sell greeting cards, in designs that complement the work on the walls
The premises comprises three rooms, white painted and light and airy. Storage is not huge but adequate and there are racks fitted, suitable for holding a large quantity of paintings of varying sizes. There are facilities for preparing drinks and light snacks. There is use of a shared lavatory and handwash basin with one other business on the floor above. We have a one-man show 4 times a year for which invitations are sent to customers and interested potential customers and advertisements are placed in the county magazine and Galleries magazine. The Artist is usually present the first 2 days of his/her one-man show. We also attend the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea twice a year, as we have done for 10 years since the AAF started. The Gallery is run by the wife of the founder with the help of a very experienced buyer and sales person. The premises do not include living accomodation.
