Well maintained & busy victorian guesthouse right on Plymouth Hoe. With 7 tastefully decorated guest rooms. Lovely location 5 mins walk to City or Barbican. Good all year trade. Separate owner flat. Good clientele. Excellent turnover and easily run.
The Seymour is a well established guest house in a very sought after area. Situated in a pretty victorian terraced cul-de-sac right on Plymouth Hoe. We were street winners of Plymouth in Bloom Gold Award in 2009,2010 and 2011 and best guest house winner 2010. In a great spot the City Centre, Bus & Train Stations, Britannia Ferry Port and historic Barbican all within a short walking distance. A 4 storey building with the basement flat being entirely for the owners use. With a small office, lovely spacious lounge, kitchenette, bedroom and large bathroom with jacuzzi bath. Rear yard with decked seating area storeroom and a separate brick built laundry room with shelving 2 washing machines and 2 tumble driers. There are 7 bedrooms, with 5 doubles and twin rooms being en-suite and 2 singles that have a washbasin but share a shower room and two toilets that were newly re-furbished April 2011 with good quality sanitary ware. Lovely comfortable bedrooms with excellent fixtures & fittings. All of the guest rooms have new beds & mattresses, flat screen digital TV's with DVD / CD players, beverage trays, kettles, hairdryers, toiletries / dispensers, wooden tissue boxes and alarm clocks. A lot of effort has been made in the last few years to bring the property up to a very good standard. The outside of the building was completely re-painted September 2009. All of the guestrooms and communal areas have been tastefully decorated in neutral shades within the last few months. All the light fittings, lamps and pictures are less than 2 years old and the floor coverings are all in good condition. The business is run by husband and wife with no extra staff at present. Busy all year, trading just below VAT level which is a really good turnover for the cost of the property. We are really busy in this current climate when others are struggling due to the recession, also there is a shortage of guest accommodation in this area so there is not a great deal of competition. The 3 other guest houses in the cul-de-sac all communicate in a friendly atmosphere, passing trade on to each other. Reason for sale. Owners wanting to return back to the Midlands. . . . .
